Jensen's New Book

Jensen went on his first plane ride to go visit
Grandma and Papa Raquet in New Mexico.
He was away for a full week and Auntie Sarah was
in withdraw! Over the break, he got a fun book
from Grandma Raquet. It lights up and sings songs
and Jensen really likes it. Here are a few pics of
Auntie reading to him.

So, I sent these cute pics of Jensen to my sister
and she didn't use them on her blog, so I did!
Use it or lose it...as I always say!

Lake House Weekend

This weekend we went down to Canton to do some pre-Christmas shopping. It was so crazy down there, but we found some good deals. Afterwards, we always go to Karen and Mike's lake house for some R&R. This is a shot off of their porch. The trees are all starting to turn colors and the weather was perfect! I do love fall!

Max got to come along with us on our trip. He did a great job in Canton. So many people stopped us and told us how CUTE he was. We were proud parents! Max got along great with Madison and Hatti. They played together and vied for our attention.

Saturday morning we got to witness Jensen eating his cereal. He is now 5 months old and eating cereal... Fruits and vegetables are on it's way!

Saturday mornings are always fun. Karen and Chuck made us french toast and then the best part is hanging out with Jensen! Mom was taking a shower getting ready to go shopping with Auntie Sarah and Chuck and I were taking turns holding Jensen. Mike was left to clean up our breakfast mess.

Lethal Luau

I have always loved the theater. In high school, I loved being in school plays and acting. To stay in touch with my theater buddies, once in college, I would have them over during Christmas to do a murder mystery dinner. We always had so much fun. My mom last year bought me a murder mystery dinner called Lethal Luau. I thought it was so cool, but I was worried about finding a group of people that would participate. Chuck and I had decided to get a group of our friends together and just see how it would go...well- we all had a blast! We gathered for drinks...compliments of the Braatens. We had appetizers and our Mai Tai drinks and then we were ready for round one. Well, everyone got VERY into the game. People were throwing accusations left and right! No one wanted to stop after round one to eat. We enjoyed a Hawaiian themed menu of Kahlua pig, rice, and salad. Then it was back to the game. We finished round 2 and 3 and then it was time for each of us to guess who the murderer was...most of us picked Chuck...AKA Chief Wiki- Wiki. He seemed to have all of the evidence piled up against him. But Melissa and Chris picked Jeff's character...AKA Joey Breakers- a surfer dude that was jealous that his friend had all the money, women and glory! It was a lot of fun:) Hope you enjoy the pics!

Welcome Home Max

Well, this was a busy and exciting week for us! We now have a dog! Max, formerly
known as Dapper Dan, is Poodle/ Schnauzer mix. We picked him up this weekend
from Operation Kindness. I was an emotional mess. I was sobbing uncontrollably
because I couldn't rescue them all. I fell in love with 3 dogs and finally, with Chuck's
guidance, chose one. He is super sweet and very calm. I can't wait for you all to
meet him!

Laura and Ethan come to visit us

It's play time.

WOW!!! I am so lucky to get a kiss from Aunt Sarah

My friend Laura and her son, Ethan, came over this past week to visit with Jensen. Jensen and Ethan were born on the same day, just hours apart. Laura and I taught 2nd grade together, but now she is a stay at home mom to Ethan. It was fun seeing the two boys interact. Ethan loved Jensen and squealed and laughed. Jensen wasn't quite sure what to make of another little one. He just wanted mommy to hold him. Ethan was content no matter who was holding him or where he was. He is a very easy going baby! My favorite picture is of me kissing him and his expression. ADORABLE!

Karen has entered him in the radio station's Most Kissable Baby contest (KISS FM) so go and vote for Jensen!

So I haven't posted in a long time but I have a good excuse...first of all, school has been very busy. Second of all, I have been very busy. Third of all...I haven't done anything really exciting enough to blog about. But enough of me! This past weekend, Bill and Michelle came up to Dallas for a baby shower. A lot of Baylor folks over to celebrate the arrival of baby Harrison. We had a BBQ from Randy White's and yummy sides from the hostesses. (Yes, I was one of them!) This was Bill and Michelle's first shower and I think they are off to a fantastic start for baby Harrison. Michelle was super excited about her SwankieBlankie hooded towel. (see picture above with Billy wearing it his head). There seemed to be a bathroom theme throughout the night. They received a lot of washcloths, shampoos, lotions, blankets and of course CUTE clothes to stock his closet! Harrison will be one sharp dresser!
I thought it was so strange to hug Billy and Michelle good-bye today. The next time we see them, they will be parents with a new baby!
